Some basic info for those getting started…
The idea of being a model for any young woman. I would imagine, can be very appealing. Making good money, traveling, meeting famous people, and all that for just posing in front of a camera. Doesn’t sound bad at all. Well I know very little about the mainstream (non-adult) modeling world. Outside of the sketchy photographers I know and the horror stories I hear from girls. Getting started and making it seems very difficult at best.
Don’t get me wrong, adult modeling has it’s horror stories and sketchy people as well, but seeing that this is the industry I work in, I know first hand all the good stuff about it, and have been there for many successes.
What is the biggest difference between adult modeling and mainstream modeling? Well most people would say NUDITY. With adult modeling you have to get naked. That is true, but I would say the biggest difference is CASH. Mainstream modeling asks that you work for free until you develop a portfolio or are “discovered” for the big paying jobs. With adult modeling you are paid for each and every shoot you do, and quite well I might add.
Of course adult modeling asks a little more from you. It asks that you be comfortable with being naked and with others seeing you naked. It asks that you be ok with the idea of the possibility of anyone seeing these images. And it asks that you are strong enough to deal with what some consider to be immoral.
While the line between mainstream and adult is blurring, some people still find adult modeling as a bad option to make. If you have the slightest objection to doing this because of a values issue, I suggest strongly that you not pursue it at all. If you are comfortable with this not being immoral there are a few things you have to ask yourself before you start.
Why am I doing this? Is it the money? Is it the attention? Is is the fame? All of these things can come from what we do here, and they can come fast. Knowing why you are doing this will help you make better decisions about what you want to do in adult modeling.
What are you limits? What are you comfortable doing? Are you ok with playboy style nudes? Spread shots? Working with other people? Are you ok with video? There are a lot of opportunities with adult modeling and not everyone does everything. Knowing where you fit in and what you want to do helps.
Not everyone is cut our for this type of work and even some that think they are don’t for see some of the bad points involved. As I mentioned before not everyone thinks adult entertainment is ok, in fact a large percentage don’t want it to be produced at all. Take it from me, people who you think they are ok with it often are not. There are things that can be done to keep everyone from knowing what you do. We go to great lengths to keep this as private as possible, but you have to go into it thinking that some day someone may see this stuff.
There are a lot of factors to consider to be sure. I would encourage you to at least come in and talk with us further. We don’t want to change your mind, but we certainly want to give you the right information so you can make up your own mind.
