Male Talent, the harsh reality of getting into the biz…
Are we looking for MALE TALENT? You’re damn right we are. We are looking for good looking, fit, experienced male talent all the time.
If you have experience, and the ability to prove it, then hit us up, we need you. I know, you have tons of experience and the ladies love you. But that experience is not the experience we are looking for. We need to see those skills in a real live working environment. So unless you have a demo tape or a credit in a release by at least a known company then you may want to read below.
I wish I could take just five minutes out my day for every guy that calls or meets me in a bar to explain how this industry works and how it is a guy can get started in it. I can’t, wish I could but I can’t. If I did I would not have time to do anything else.
So here is some info. Guys who have not worked in this industry have a close to impossible shot at getting there big break by simply trying to get into the business. It is even more difficult than mainstream, because there are no open casting calls for male talent. Why? Because this is a skilled position that a $10 Billion dollar a year industry is built on. No one wants to take a chance on someone that hasn’t proven themselves and I can’t blame them. I have done it before and I have gotten burned close to every time.
So if no one gives you a shot how are they going to realize that you are the MAN? Quite honestly, no one cares until you prove it to them. It is a catch-22, I know. So how do you break this cycle? There are no male talent trade schools, no evening classes, no certification.
Well the easiest way is use the skills you have been trying desperately to develop your whole life. The skills to talk women into actually liking you. What you need to do is find a super hot girl that wants to get into “the biz” but refuses to work with anyone but you. That way when she gets hired you get your big break. So your saying does this really work? I don’t know. I have never done it but I have heard of it happening a lot. It is rare that I find a girl that is so smoking hot that I will jump through those kind of hoops for. But I am open to the idea so go find a hot chick.
The other way to do it, and I know for a fact this works. Make your own demo tape. Find someone to work with and have it videotaped (by as much of a professional as you can afford) and bring it in. We buy other peoples footage. If we like it and distribute it and it is a popular release for us we will commission more and then you are on your way.
But all kidding aside, I think this is a great industry and we are here to help as much as we can but keep in mind we are limited in what we can do for you. That is just the way it is.
